Wilmington is a great location to have on your beach getaway vacation list. The drive is about 3.5 hours away from Charlotte. It’s currently one of the fastest-growing towns in the South and has some of the most versatile restaurants, local shops, and entertainment around. Not to mention the wide variety of outdoor activities there as well. It is a great place to visit year-round but is extremely fun during the holiday season as there are many holiday-themed activities and lights.

The upshot was 4 flights without access to food or drink. Sitting the aisle my shoulder was rammed into numerous times by rushing flight attendants.

They took a horrible route with a lot of turbulence and I eneded up getting sick. Don't put people life at risk just to get to the airport on time. I would fly again the whole experience was great. The only feed back I can give that they don't do that American Airlines does is the crew there is more humorous with boarding and thank their passengers. Delayed due to an ill passenger after loading.

There were 3 leg for the trip and each leg was delayed by 90 minutes or more. The boarding process takes forever with people waiting on the jetway even though most folks do not have carry-on. Flight was rebooked through Ontario, California and connecting flight was delayed by over three hours. Frontier is living up to their Greyhound of the skies reputation for sure. I've never seen the airport as bad in regards to security lines and wait.

Then we didn't want to leave the gate to get food because we wouldn't know how much longer the delay would be. Had we been told that the total time would have been aprox 45 min later we would have left to get food and a beverage. We had to wait again for the okay to the pilot to take off so we were on the runway for another 20 min.

Stone Mountain State Park is nearby and home to fun hikes, waterfalls (including Stone Mountain Falls and Widow’s Creek Falls), and that massive rock that many folks love climbing. This park is well-marked and well-maintained, there are trails for those looking for a stroll to even trails for those looking for a long challenge. People flock here for four-wheeling, horseback riding, hiking, trail running, mountain biking, and camping.
I had a wonderful experience flying with delta. The gentleman taking care of us on our flight was so nice, accommodating, and attentive. He always was smiling and giving pins to the kids which made me smile.
